Project Descriptions:

The project, titled “Grassroots Mobilization for Safe Labor Migration,” supported by the Embassy of Switzerland to Sri Lanka and Maldives works towards safeguarding the rights of migrants and empowering them to advocate for their own rights. Samadana/m implements the project in Five DS divisions in Kandy District. Namely

Gangawatakorale,Harispaththuwa,Kundasale, Panvila and Gampola. As part of this initiative, Samadana/m has established 100 Self-Help Groups and 30 Migrant Workers Societies, comprising of those who are preparing to migrate, family members of in-service migrant workers, and have returned from overseas work. In addition to working with migrants, Samadana/m collaborates closely with government and private sector stakeholders to ensure the well-being and protect the rights of migrant workers.
